CANNES -- Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg?s Sierra / Affinity will rep international sales on the latest adaptation of an Irvine Welsh provocation, titled Filth, at the Marche du Film in Cannes. Lionsgate already has U.K. rights in its pocket, while Icon will distribute Down Under.

Jon S. Baird wrote the adaptation of the Welsh novel and will direct. Ken Marshall is producing through Steel Mill Pictures (Cherry Tree Lane); Will Clarke is an executive producer.

The dark comedy follows corrupt Edinburgh Police Detective Bruce Robertson as he ruthlessly games the system to win a promotion and get back his wife and daughter. Welsh also wrote the novel Trainspotting, which Danny Boyle and John Hodge turned into a film in 1996.

Sierra / Affinity also is repping the drama The Place Beyond the Pines, the sci-fi epic Ender?s Game, the actioner Parker, the found-footage thriller Evidence and the Competition crime flick Drive at Cannes.
