MANSFIELD, Ohio - President Obama took a break from campaigning in central Ohio today to pick out some "premium chocolate" for his wife and for his daughters, who are away at summer camp.
"Malia and Sasha left me for the summer," Obama told cashier Lia Brunetti, 19, inside the Squirrel's Den sweets shop on North Main Street in Mansfield.
"They're off at camp, and I don't want them to forget me. So I was thinking about putting a little care package together," he said. "What do you think?"
Obama perused the specialty candies, popcorn and gourmet nuts and tasted some of the homemade fudge.
"That's some amazing chocolate right there. In case you're wondering, that's premium chocolate. It tastes great," he told LaDonna Secrist, the shop owner, who offered the president a sample.
Obama was seen picking out a box of chocolate for Michelle as the press pool was ushered out of the shop. He presumably also selected some sweets for his girls, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11.

"Do you have a place to keep it cool?" Secrist asked Obama.
"Yeah, well, I'll have to get it back to the plane, but once I get to the plane, it'll be O.K.," he said.
Obama made the unannounced stop after holding an earlier campaign rally at Mansfield Central Park. He was then off to Air Force One for a quick flight to Akron, where he held a second rally of the day.
