OUYA Open Source Games Console | The Super Good Life

San Francisco based OUYA have decided that they?re fed up of the big three controlling the video gaming market and thus are aiming to create their own console. They take inspiration from the recent success of Android with the mobile gaming market and so us the same open source model. This means developers can easily re-create code for the console and should lower costs of the closed system employed by the big gaming systems. Developers will be encouraged to release games for free or at a lower cost and the system itself can easily be torn apart and upgraded. ?Inside the console sits a powerful Tegra3 quad core processor aided by 1GB of RAM with 8GB of flash memory for fast loading times. Controllers should be familiar and easy to use for anyone who has played a games console in the last 20 years but a touch pad makes it stand out from the crowd. Back the project now through Kick Starter.
