Accused of a false rape, Brian Banks' spent 6 years in prison and lost out on NFL dream.
A former standout high school football prospect who was falsely accused of rape and lost his college scholarship is asking for a shot with an NFL team.
Brian Banks, of Long Beach, California, was headed to the University of Southern California when he was falsely accused of rape and kidnapping.
In an appearance on the "Today" show, Banks pleaded with NFL coaches to give him a shot.
?Let me show you what I can produce,? he said. ?I think that any team that give me an opportunity will be really impressed with what I can do despite what I?ve been through these past 10 years.?
Banks was charged with rape and kidnapping in 2002. He took a plea deal to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison. He was sentenced to six years and let out on parole in 2008.
Since, he's been working on his health and trying to get a shot with an NFL team. But as for employment, he's had trouble finding that.

?It?s like branding,? he said on ?Today?. ?It?s like if someone put a brand on you: rapist.?
His accuser friended him on Facebook after he was released from prison with a strange request to make ?bygones be bygones." She claimed she didn't admit earlier because she feared losing a $1.5 million settlement.
