Davidson Co. family has returned home after deadly tornado - WGHP

Davidson County, N.C. ? A Davidson County family has returned home after rebuilding from the destruction that was left by a tornado that destroyed their home and everything in it in 2011.

?That first night we stayed here that?s when it felt like home,? said Jamie Rummage who moved into her rebuilt home last week after a EF-2 tornado destroyed it last November.

The storm killed two, injured 15 and caused millions in property damage across south central Davidson County.

?The house was gone pretty much, but I thought ok, that?s behind me, that?s already in the past. Lets move forward,? she said standing in her bedroom where her new bedroom furniture was delivered Wednesday.

The Rummage family had insurance and was able to rebuild their home in six months, but admit it was not easy.

?I?ve found out that I can do things that I never thought I would ever be able to do. I can handle things so much better than I ever thought I could,? said Rummage.
