Each week our friends at Inhabitat recap the week's most interesting green developments and clean tech news for us -- it's the Week in Green.
Buon giorno! Milan Design Week 2012 is in the rear-view mirror now, but we're still sifting through the incredible furniture, lighting and technology that was showcased all throughout the city this year. Inhabitat sent a couple of correspondents to report on everything that was on display, and they didn't disappoint. We featured a nifty biophotovoltaic table that uses moss to generate electricity through photosynthesis. We also caught wind of a digital camera that IKEA unveiled in Milan that's made of cardboard. And given our love for terrariums, we were pretty excited to find this pendant lamp that doubles as a vegetable garden at this year's fair. But the star of the Milan show this year had to be British designer Tom Dixon, who rolled out countless innovative lamp designs, including the gorgeous Etch Light, which casts geometric shadows all over the room -- and he even invited visitors to design their own flat-pack lamps!

Chris Brown can’t catch a break, even when it comes to his dogs. There is a scandal brewing again, but this time it’s hard to tell if he has even done anything wrong. All that has happened is that Chris Brown posted a picture of himself with some puppies and even tried to sell one or two of them on a breeder’s website. Next thing you know PETA is making statements about it. First off, I’m no big fan of his. All I had to see was the picture of Rihanna after the beating he was convicted of giving her. It’s just disgusting. To me, there is no such thing as “snapping” to the point that you do that to someone. But that was the past. Since then, every publication from TMZ to the Florida Alligator have completely destroyed his every move. He can’t even Tweet something without getting owned. I usually like it, and I think it’s well deserved. This puppy conspiracy has me a little confused. According to reports, he could be breeding pit bulls for profit. Wrapp Brings Social, Mobile Gifting Service To The U.S.; Partners With The Gap, H&M And Others
Wrapp, a social gifting service backed by Greylock Partners and Atomico, is crossing the pond with the U.S. launch of its mobile gift card and retail app. Wrapp, which was available previously only in the UK, Norway, Sweden and Japan, Wrapp is actually launching today with a number of U.S. retailers including Fab, Gap, H&M, Sephora, The Wall Street Journal, Wayfair, and others. As we've reported in the past, Wrapp was co-founded by Rebtel and SendIt founder Hjalmar Winbladh, Spotify founding CTO Andreas Ehn, and lets friends give, receive and redeem digital gift cards using mobile devices, and allows friends to contribute to gifts given by mutual friends. With Wrapp, which offers iPhone, Android and web apps, you sign in via your Facebook account, and you can then tap the Celebration tab on the app, browse your friends or major events, and select the person you want to send a gift card to. Meon makes its way to Android!
Those of you old enough to remember Windows Mobile no doubt played Meon at some point. The idea's simple enough — you use light to free the cute little Meons from whatever it is that's keeping them trapped. The game starts out simple, but pretty soon you'll be bouncing light off mirrors and changing colors with prisms to the point that you're not sure what started where, or where it's going to end up. It's strangely addicting.
The Android version is faithful to the original. Our only real complaint is that it doesn't really take advantage of the larger screen sizes.
