2011 Qld Premier's Literary Awards winners announced ...

The winners of this year?s Queensland Premier?s Literary Awards were announced in Brisbane on 6 September.

The winning titles in the book-related categories are:

Fiction Book Award ($25,000)

Emerging Queensland Author ? Manuscript Award ($20,000)

• ?The Beloved? (Annah Lee Faulkner)

Unpublished Indigenous Writer ? Arts Queensland David Unaipon Award ($20,000)

• ?Mazin? Grace? (Dylan Coleman)

Nonfiction Book Award ($15,000)

History Book ? Faculty of Arts, University of Queensland Award ($15,000)

Children?s Book ? Mary Ryan?s Award ($15,000)

Young Adult Book Award ($15,000)

Science Writer Award ($15,000)

• Voyage to the Planets ? Episodes 1, 2 and 3 (Richard Smith, Essential Media and Entertainment)

Poetry Collection ? Arts Queensland Judith Wright Calanthe Award ($15,000)

Australian Short Story Collection ? Arts Queensland Steele Rudd Award ($15,000)

Literary or Media Work Advancing Public Debate ? The Harry Williams Award ($15,000)

Also announced at the presentation ceremony was the Screen Queensland Film Script Award, which went to The Hunter (Alice Addison, Porchlight Films), the Griffith University Creative Writing Program Award for a drama script (stage), which went to Life Without Me (Daniel Keene, Currency Press), and the QUT Creative Industries Television Script Award, which was presented to Paper Giants: The birth of Cleo ? Part 2 (Christopher Lee, Southern Star John Edwards).
