Health Drinks And Whole Foods From An Online ... - Cook With Ease

As the owner of an online health food store, I am perpetually searching for the ultimate whole foods and health drinks. During the slowest shopping season I decided it was safe to make a trip to the mall. Finding a parking space was easy, right in front of the most gargantuan health food store I had ever seen. I won?t mention any names, but it should suffice to say that many of the ?health drinks? and supplements they advertise are not very ?high? in real serious nutrition.

With some time to spare while my wife shopped in the mall, I began contrasting ingredient labels with those at our online health food store to find out what really made those super protein blasters and vitamin waters so popular that they needed this gigantic store. Hopefully, this adventure to the big health food chain will help you dodge some of the ingredients that are anything but healthy in many of their products. Then, you?ll start to understand why an online health food store can be a healthier way to obtain the best whole foods and health drinks.

Different from a naturally focused online health food store, the big health food store at the mall hypes those candy-colored, enhanced vitamin waters. The pretty, colored bottles were everywhere, enticing customers with low prices, flashy colors, and the potential for a health drink that might actually taste pleasant. Unfortunately, the healthy benefits are just not real.

Right away, the crystalline fructose (concentrated sugar) content in this particular vitamin water generated an unpleasant taste right away and the inescapable feeling that this was not healthy. Of course, if your body could actually absorb the isolated vitamins this water is enhanced with, you might be able to justify the expense. Unfortunately, though, isolated vitamins that are not connected to whole foods most certainly break down before the body can use them for fuel. On my trip to this health food store I could easily see there were no whole foods in those flashy bottles of enhanced vitamin water.

These are a few of the other ingredients I uncovered on the labels that I make certain we avoid when advertising whole foods and health drinks for our online health food store: crystaline fructose (concentrated sugar), artificial sweeteners, modified corn starch, artificial flavors, and MSG. I also avoid ?isolated? protein drinks. The body has a hard time digesting most protein drinks because they are typically made from ?isolated? protein, which congests the lymphatic system. Many nutrition experts agree it is a myth that any human being needs the excessive levels of protein in some of the biggest selling body building health drinks. In fact, all that excess protein is creating kidney and liver problems for some fitness fanatics.

These are just a few of the things I try to avoid in my constant pursuit for whole foods and health drinks that are truly beneficial for the body. Have you carefully examined the ingredients in your supplements? I hope you?ll have as much fun reading labels as I did at the massive health food store. When you are searching the net, look for whole foods and health drinks at an online health food store.
