Save Money With Video Interviewing | Business 2 Community

Finding good employees is becoming easier than ever with video interviewing websites and software becoming more prevalent. There are many companies to choose from when selecting a video interviewing platform. Finding a vendor is easy, but choosing the right one based on your interview needs requires a little research.

Your company may ask you to cut costs or to find candidates outside of the immediate area in order to have access to better qualified candidates. Do you want to be able to record your interview questions and have multiple candidates answer the questions for review later? Would you like a product that also allows you to review the recorded interviews later, should another position become available where a candidate may be a good fit?

Research studies on 506 organizations by Mollie Lombardi and Ted Bondenrader revealed some great reasons why companies should turn to video interviewing. Fifty-two percent of Best-in-Class companies are utilizing video-enabled applications and, of those companies, 95 percent show employee retention and 82 percent of those employees delivered 12-month milestones on time.

The ability to have a wider reach to find better talent ? along with huge cost reductions ? are great reasons to go with video interviewing. You no longer have to pay travel expenses just to screen prospective employees and bring them to you. One recent article stated that Zappos.com actually spent $1,000 per candidate to fly out and get them a hotel for the night.

Video interviews are becoming more mainstream, so now is the best time to test the waters. If you decide not to utilize these types of resources, other companies may have the leg up on finding better candidates faster and you?ll miss out.

Has your company tried video interviewing?
