Book Review & Giveaway: Ready for Bed, Ready to Play & Ready for ...

Ready for Bed, Ready to Play & Ready for the Day by Stacey R Kaye illustrated by Elizabeth O Dulemba

?

Ready for Bed: Mommy says it?s time for bed, but Marco isn?t ready. ?I don?t want to go to bed!? ?I can see you?re disappointed,? Mommy says. ?You were having fun.? Marco nods. He is disappointed.

?

Ready to Play: Emma has been waiting all day to play castle. ?I?ll be the princess and you be the prince.? But Ryan has a different idea. ?No, let?s place store!? Emma stomps her foot. ?I don?t want to play store. It?s my hose, and I say we play castle!? Mom helps Emma solve her problem. ?It?s frustrating when you and your friend disagree, isn?t it?? She asks.

?

Ready for the Day: It?s morningtime, and Maya is still sleepy. ?Good morning!? Daddy says. ?Are you ready to start the day?? ?Noooooo, ?Maya whines. ?I don?t want to go to school today. I want to stay home with you.? Daddy kneels down next to Maya. ?I know just how you fee,? he says. ?I wish we could spend the day together, too.

My Review: I had the opportunity to read all three books. ?I love, love these books. Every parent has had or has a child who isn?t ready to go to bed, ready to play with others or ready for the day like going to school.

These books teach parents how to negotiate with their children when it is time for them to do any of the above. These are the type of books that would captivate any child helping them to express their feelings and how they talk. They will provide you with healthy, lasting solutions.

The author provided color coded dialogue in the books to help provide a positive parenting techniques like encouraging, co operation, validate feelings, offer choices and giving encouragement. These techniques are explained in details in the last couple of pages at the end of these books just for adults.

This is a must have series to make life easier for parents and their children. What a best way for a child to learn at an early age skills in resolving everyday struggles like getting ready for bed. If you are looking for ways to get through the day with your child I highly recommend you get the series. I promise you at the end of reading these books you will be stress free by putting the solutions to work for you and your child. ?Elizabeth Dulemba did a wonderful illustration for these books with bold and cool colors which brings the books to life. A perfect gift for every parent!
